Not an epiphany but an observance

I noticed something about my profession, about how people come and go. I know that happens with anything... work place, friends, lovers, so on and so forth. So I guess consider this a microcosm of sorts.
I just noticed a differnce in the the people that stay and the people that leave. The difference between the people that can and cannot survive.
You need to be able to remove yourself completely from your enviroment from time to time and if you can't that's when it becomes too much. I know you make friends and even lovers from where you work because that is who you see all the time, but you cannot make your workplace your entire social life either, because when something starts to go bad then how do you get away to think, problemsolve, fix, take a time out? What do you do when all your coworkers are your friends/lovers/spouses/people your seeing on the side? What's the answer? Quit? Move? I've met many who have done both.
The ones that last at work... in life even are the ones that can get away at times. That doesn't mean don't hang out with coworkers. You meet a lot of great people through there, but don't make that your world. People get too wrapped up in the drama and are all connected in one way or another. Who slept with who... Who's dating who... who cheated on who... What friend backstabbed the other friend... yadda yadda yadda.
There's always gonna be drama and there's always gonna be a massive spiderweb of intersecting lines from on person to another, but maybe, just maybe if one of those lines just ran off into nowhere then things would not be so stressful, aggrivating and hurtful. Hey The job is stressful enough without making it a "OUR DAYS OF OUR EMS" saga sideshow.
Poeple who have several places to go that have nothing to do with one another just seems to to help them and these people have a tendency to be calmer and more mellow instead of being high stung and about to snap like a guitar string.
Maybe it's just me that sees this, but it deffinetly has been a reoccuring observation I have made.
