First week is over with my internship. Gonna be rough. I know my stuff, but I'm too quiet. I got to be more commanding and louder. That's a bit out of character for me. Monday will be a new week and I'm gonna come in remebering to push my self to be more assertive. Got to be the leader. No if's, and's or but's about it.
My FTO had his schedual changed so it will be Mon-Thurs 1745-0545 instead. Not a big diff from what it was before.
My FTO is a shit magnet as well. We are constantly getting critical patients. Good for me to learn from it that way. The more experience the better.
Had three back to back critcal patients on the last night I worked. The last patient was a cardiac arrest. I was running the call at first, but the fire medic was being an ass and kept running me over. My FTO and myself kept saying I was a medic student and to let me run the show. Didn't work. My FTO said it was the closest he has ever come to getting into a fight with fire. But we can't do that. For one it looks bad to the family and second we would get in trouble. Fire would have no consequenses, so they could care less. I did what I could regardless.
We'll see what next week has in store with me. Wish me luck
