What a New Year
at 4:28 p.m. on 2005-01-05
Yes. I was sick for New Years. I also worked New Years. 12pm till 3am. Long day. Didn't help that I lost my voice first thing in the morning. I didn't feel that bad but I sure sounded it. It was a busy night. Started at about 10pm and was back to back after that. We were at what is called level zero, when every ambulance is on a call and there are none left available, for a couple of hours. We ran our tails off.
I also worked the 2nd. I don't know what was up with people, but they were starting off the new year with a bang. Starting at about 9am we were getting calls for assults, shootings, self inflicted stab wounds, car vs. person, car vs. house, car vs. parked tracker <--- don't ask, roll overs and for stand offs. I talked to a metro officer at about 11am and he told me that he already had 2 homicides for the day. Dear lord people!!! It was just a wierd day.
