One social event to anther

I had fun Thursday night with my classmates. It was all smiles and good conversation. Ray and I didn't stay too long, because he was exhausted. We stopped by IHOP for a bite to eat before getting home though. The Lodge type place we were at was a bit expensive and we also wanted to be able to have a conversation with just the two of us.
Friday I went by my parents to see the pictures they took in Hawaii. They were great and it made me wish I could have gone with them. Vanessa came by later and we hung out for a bit. She had gotten a job over at a place called the Roadhouse as a cocktail waitress. She wanted to know what kind of shift she would be working so she could find a secound job that didn't clash with the other. She didn't want to go by herself so I went with her. Her dad also works there as a singer, so we said hi and he interduced us to everyone. While we were there I ran into old friends of Ray's. It was Roger and his son Charlie. Charlie didn't recognize me when I walked by and smiled, but Roger did. He interduced me to his new wife. I was happy to see him in love again. It was Charlie's birthday so I got Vanessa to go with me and give him a big hug. He got a little pink after that. He was all about Vanessa that night. Most of the guys we meet are. We sat with Rodger, charlie, his wife and another friend of theirs and had a couple of drinks with them. I made a promise to Rodger that Ray and I were going to come by some time and have dinner with him. All I need to do is get Ray off his butt to go.
Vanessa and I were heading back to my place that night, when I got a call from Ray. He told me to meet him at the CO hangout and to bring Vanessa too. We get there and Ray's coworker/friend made a straight line for Vanessa. Oh yeah, big surprise. Most of the single guys were all trying to talk to her. She is pretty and single, whatmore could they want. All I listened to that night was David saying, "she's so pretty." Go Ness!
After that Vanessa, Ray and I went back to the house. Ray went straight to bed and Nessa and I walked the dog and talked for most of the night. Nessa told me a lot of things that I had not heard before. She had been having a rough time for the past couple of years. I'm glad she feels that she can talk to me about these things, but I'm also saddened by the fact that she had to go through them in the first place.
Today is laundry day for me and I'm also going to try and clean up this messy house.
