That's a mouth full. at 7:18 p.m. on 2003-12-17 I'm going to start with getiing up for school Tuesday morning. As I was about to get into my truck I noticed that the recent rains have left a thin sheet of ice on my windshield. That is an unusual site in Vegas given the fact that it rarely rains here. I really don't have anything on hand to chip away the ice so I decided to improvise. I decide to use my debit card to create a space large enough for me to see through, because I'm already running behind and my class was going to start soon. I finally jump into my truck and go. My truck finally warms up enough to use my defroster and the ice becomes more of a slush. I turn on my winshield wipers to clear it away and fling some of teh slush off my windshield but inadvertenly spatter the car coming up on my left. It's hard to apologize while trying not to giggle. People are so anal about their cars. I was nervous about the exam, because I did not study the night before. I finally get the exam and it was a piece of cake. I was so relieved. I was done within 45 mins but I ended up waiting almost three hours to find out my grade. Everyone was a little grumpy about have to wait so long. We were all under the impression that we would have been done by 9:30am at most instead of 11am. During the wait we discussed what we were all going to do after our last final on Thursday, and who was going to be buying the rounds. Hehehe. I hung out at my house for a bit before taking off for my dentist appointment for my sore tooth. Evidently I have nothing wrong with my teeth. No cavities no nothing. It's good news to have nothing wrong, but sucks because my tooth still hurts. They told me to use Sensidine toothpaste and sent me on my way. Afterwards I went to pick up my parent's Hawaii photos for them, but the photo lab was so backed up that they won't be ready till Friday. Ugh. Sense I was still on their side of town I went and spent the afternoon with my dad until my friend Vanessa got done with her errands. I took Vanessa up to Bellagio to see what it was all about and poke our heads in to say hi to my mom. We started chatting with the guy at the register while we waited for my mom. I think he was rather smitten with Vanessa. He's a cute kid too, but I think he was a little too short for Nessa. My mom showed Vanessa around and told here where human resources was so that she could take in her resume for a job. Nessa and I were also treated to complamentary pumpkin cheesecake before we left. Mmmm... Cheescake. Nessa and I decide to go back to my place to just hangout and have a heineken or two. We get back just as Ray gets home. we come to find out that one of the roomates got fired. We get the story and it doesn't sound like anything that warrented the termination, which of course there has been talk of possible rehiring happening. After that got out of the way, we started talking about The Lord of the Rings Return of the King coming out at midnight. We gat a wild hair up our asses and decided to make the opening showing. It was a mess getting there. I rode with Nessa and Greg, Wil and Ray rode in another car. First we were supposed to go to the Green Valley Ranch, then they called my cell phone and said. " nope it's over at the Texas Station." We fliped around and started heading there. Then I got another call with then saying that now it's over at the Rainbow theater. Ness and I were getting just a bit annoyed driving all over the dang place. We get there at about 10:30pm with a huge line waiting. We wait in the freezing cold for what seemed like forever. It really wasn't that long, just felt that way cause it was freakin cold. You know it's bad when Nessa who is from Canada is Shivering. The movie was awsome. Love Legolas. *sigh* Orlando Bloom is hot. It was 3:30am by the time we get out and my behind had gone numb from sitting in the seats for so long. My legs didn;t want to work at first, but it was worth it for the movie. I had been up for almost 24 hours by then so I was exhausted. I got to sleep by like 4 something in the morning and I was up again by 11am. Today was devoted to finishing the last of my homework. I went down to one of the fire stations to do teh EMS system survey. The guys were very nice. They had a call come in for a fire so I got to see all the guys come running and suit up. This station is one of the last ones to have the poles they slide down and a couple of guys actually used them. It looked like a scene from a movie. I still have a couple of documentation assignments and I need to study for the exam tomorrow. I'm extremely nervous about having to do the senarios in front of the physicians. I'll do fine as long as I don't freeze up or have a brain fart. I hope I can sleep tonight, but I doubt it. Everyone wish me luck and I'll tell you how it went when I'm done tomorrow. |
